on being social

I consider myself more introverted, but these days being a gallery owner forces me to be more 'social' ~ social media that is.  Today, the dmg has all facets of social media covered including Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, and Twitter.  I even have my own blog!

I can't keep up with all the social media without help from my staff, but I'm proud to say that I do most of the pinning and instagramming for the gallery myself. I also write my own blog and create the gallery e-letters. It's a great way for me to keep in touch with my customers {Katrina!} and still find a way to be creative.

So join us on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, and Twitter today.  Let us keep you in the loop about what's happening at the dmg.  You won't be disappointed, I promise!

American Made Show

Despite my return flight being cancelled, my buying trip to the American Made Show in DC was quite fun.  I caught up with many of the wonderful artists I represent and met some amazing new talents.  I even saw a couple of my best friends from college for dinner, so it was a great trip overall.

Here's a quick report of my findings from my first buying trip of 2015.  I picked up a few new jewelry lines including Henry Wichusen, Erica Stankwytch Bailey, and da metals.  Other newbies to the dmg this year include glass artist Gary Bodker and woodworker Robert Jones.

Not to worry, I also reordered from dmg favorites such as Leandra Drumm, Rachel Atherley, and Ananda Khalsa.  These artists had their own new designs to show off at American Made and I'm looking forward to sharing them with you throughout the year!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!  I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season.  I'm gearing up for 2015 and busy planning out the new year ahead.  I hope to bring you many special events, amazing new artists and merchandise throughout the year.  We are also launching our online store this winter!

This past year was a terrific one for the dmg.  We greatly appreciate your support in 2014.  Thank you for keeping it local too.  Your patronage of the dmg allows me to support the community I love, as well as many local organizations I feel passionate about.  I look forward to serving you in the new year!
